Peter played France several times, first in 1961, then in 1967 (in France) 1968 (In Aust) and 2 tests in France in 1971. This jersey does seem to match the first game. It appears to be c 1958 - 1961 period. Makers label red writing on white "Allen Sports Paris" The Gold bullion Cockerill on a white felt patch. The # 13 in white plastic. Player unknown. Apart from torn # 3 numeral in G to VG condition.

The jerseys used between 1958 and 1961 are extremely similar in their construction, fabric, collar and overall appearance. There are very few physical details that allow them to be dated with complete certainty.
The jersey you have is certainly consistent with both the 1958 and 1961 period, which is why it's so difficult to be 100% definitive.
What we do know with confidence is that the French badge changed at the end of 1961. After the New Zealand/Australia tour, France introduced the smaller badge with the red background and cockerel, so your jersey definitely predates that change.

Furthermore he played 215 1st Grade games for Randwick, 12 matches for Sydney, 34 for NSW and 49 Wallaby Tour games. He was inducted into he Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1989 and in 2016, Johnson was inducted into the Wallaby Hall of Fame. He was a member of the 1971 Presidents (World) XV that played England at Twickenham to celebrate the RFUs Centenary. Jersey comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
